TigerCub

As her award-winning senior thesis, Candace Do ('24) designed, built, and ground-tested Princeton's first PocketQube platform (affectionately deemed “TigerCub”).  A PocketQube is an even tinier (1/8-scale) version of a CubeSat, but is still a fully-autonomous orbital spacecraft!

Candace's proposed PocketQube platform is payload-agnostic (awaiting great payload ideas from upcoming Princeton MAE students!), but is architected primarily around unique use of the Iridium satphone constellation as its reliable “plug-and-play” ground station network (via implementation of the coincidentally perfectly-sized COTS Iridium RockBLOCK antenna!).

The project was accepted for presentation at the 2025 PocketQube Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
